Intern | Extern Opportunities
The Alliance for Children’s Rights offers continuous intern | extern opportunities for law students, social work students and undergraduates. Interns and externs work with Alliance staff to advocate for impoverished and abused children and youth.

A legal externship | internship with The Alliance for Children's Rights offers a broad range of legal and advocacy experiences for law students. It provides hands-on client contact and direct provision of legal services to people who might not otherwise have access to legal representation.
The atmosphere is collegial, cooperative and supportive. Your experience at The Alliance for Children's Rights is one you will long remember.
Please send resumé and cover letter to Diego Cartagena, Esq. or Fax: 213-368-6010.
In addition to specific program work, all interns | externs will participate in answering calls through our community intake line. These telephone calls provide the first contact potential clients have with The Alliance.
The calls come from a variety of sources – parents, foster parents, social workers, teens, attorneys – who are often facing a crisis. The calls are compelling and the circumstances facing these potential cleints may be dire and urgent. The intake worker will review the information with an attorney to determine the appropriate course of action for the caller.
Case review with staff attorneys provides a valuable learning experience for law students. It is an opportunity to discuss factual situations and applicable legal theories relating to child welfare, while exposing the interns to a variety of cases, circumstances, conflicts and resolution.
