Community Volunteers

The Alliance for Children’s Rights welcomes volunteers from the Los Angeles community.  We are very much in need of volunteers to assist with the following:

Spanish translation:
Facilitate interviews, meetings and correspondence with Spanish speaking clients. Excellent interpersonal skills and fluency with written and verbal English and Spanish required. No certification or specialized degree necessary.

Administrative and clerical support:
Prepare correspondence and forms; Organize information and documents for easy access by attorneys and staff; Respond to inquiries as directed; Prepare materials for presentations and meetings; Enter information into database. Excellent interpersonal skills, prior administrative experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

Client intake:
Answer calls regarding the Alliance’s services; Gather basic facts necessary for an attorney to assess the caller’s legal needs; Verify information; Refer callers to appropriate resources.  Detailed training provided. Excellent interpersonal skills required.

  • Cover letter must indicate availability, i.e., hours/week with desired start/end date
  • Cover letter should also indicate the type of work you are interested in, i.e., interpreting, client intake or administrative support.
  • All positions are unpaid and occur during normal business hours (9:00a to 5:30p M-F)
  • All opportunities require an 80 hour commitment with a minimum of 8 hours per week in 4+ hour blocks
